The April event has at its core purpose to get the public to come out a learn about the best preserved Coastal Artillery fortification left in the United States
We, today, forget how our forebears lived and acted in a very challenging time.
During the WW2 times frame, people were afraid of being directly attacked. Life was different. Our April event highlights those folkses lives in many of its aspects.
Our supporters do stay with us year after year. If you want to help keep the flow of unusual and large WW2 vehicles coming or want to join the reenacting group, please contact us.
Mike at WOL has been extremely generous in loaning his equipment and charging a Family and Friends rate to get that equipment here.
He and the Team are wonderful to work with.
Over a many year period, Gerald Hocker and his staff donated the cooking and prep of our dinner for many years.
We thank him for his many years of support.
Sussex County Council in 2022 gave a grant to the FMHA to assist in the funding need to get the M 18 here. We are most thankful for their commitment to bringing living history to the Fort.
We hope to have their support again this year.
With out these supporters we would not be able to have as good a program as we do.
Over the years at Fort Miles we have had a mess hall for the public during our events.
Before the state decided to provide outside food vendors for the public, The Hooked Up Group was a large supporter. The donated back the profits which really helped us a lot.
Steve Hagan the owner and his staff have come through in a pinch and helped us get the public fed.
Many Thank to them and their efforts.
They make a very very good Rueben by the way.

Dr Hattier has been serving the Beach Resorts since 1986. Dr Hattier has a strong interest in history and especially our very own Fort.
Dr Hattier retired from Chiropractic in May of 2023 and has more time to devote to preserving this history.
Being very clear however, this effort takes many people who donate their time and money to make this happen.
It really does take a large team to make all this happen.

The Clayton theater is a well known local single event movie theater. Built and operated since 1948, the Clayton runs ads for us before the showings. Thank you Joanne!
Listed last but of prime importance, None of what we enjoy here at the Fort would be possible with the support of the State of Delaware through its parks program. Ms Kaitlyn Dykes is our new person and is working well with us.
Our presence gives life and dimension to their restoration. .
